"Access to translation as a means to the materialisation of human rights" with Dr. Aline Larroyed
Join us for a public lecture exploring the relationship between access to translation in crisis contexts and the protection of human rights, presented by Dr. Aline Larroyed (Dublin City University).
The lecture will take place from 1–2pm and will be followed by an informal discussion from 2–3pm for members of the Trans/Actions Community of Practice and anyone interested in learning more about the project. All are warmly welcome to continue the conversation in the same venue.
Refreshments will be provided, and online participation is available for those who wish to join remotely.

Spaces to decompress: Pen, peace & pause
Join us this November 2024 for the last session of the year in our Spaces to decompress series! This event is open to all and offers a chance to unwind with some creative, carefree writing. No prior experience is necessary — just get ready to relax, get creative and connect with like-minded people who share a passion for translation, creativity, and activism.
Spaces to decompress: One Hue at a Time
We welcome colleagues, students and community members of Trans/Actions to join at a time that suits you bewteen 1pm to 3pm to colour with us. We will provide all the materials. The aim of the session is to create a calming space for anyone joining who may wish to decompress and relax for a while.
Between 13:45 and 14:00, we will give a brief introduction to Trans/Actions: Translation as Activism and show a video that we have made to showcase some of the creative elements of our work.
Spaces to decompress: Tai Chi Twists
We would be delighted if you could join us this Thursday, 27 June, at 5:30pm for a Tai Chi session, June's space to decompress event. It takes place at the Pavilion of Light (band stand/covered stage area) in Fitzgerald Park, Mardyke.

Spaces to Decompress: Unwind & Doodle
During the first half of 2024, we will be organising a series of events which will provide space to decompress for our community members, as this has been identified by the community of practice as a key need for those working at the intersection of translation and activism in Ireland.
This first session was Unwind & Doodling, a space to relax and doodle, hosted by our very own Elizabeth Rosales Martínez!
